Protection often involves the least amount of time, but it can have the greatest impact on the garden and is a central element to the proper management of our Client's gardens.
There are several levels at which Parterre protects its client's landscapes. First, our design background means that we are constantly working to maintain the original design intent. We work closley with a number of top landscape architects to ensure the original design intent is maintained. This is crucial as a landscape grows and evolves from the initial planting. Secondly, as the Single Point of Contact, Parterre utilizes its expertise and knowledge to protect the investment their client's have made in their landscape.
For example, irrigation systems can be complex and very large. Recently, a large system developed some faults in individual zones. As a result of our regular presence, a gardener realized immediately that some areas were not receiving enough water. We contacted the irrigation specialist and commenced the hand watering of the effected plants until repairs could be made. This happened in mid-summer during a drought. Without this supplemental water and oversight, a significant number of plants would have died at great cost to the homeowner.
Last year we saw a large population growth of the Winter Moth, whose larvae in the spring can defoliate trees. Early detection by us on several properties allowed for quick management and elimination of the pests before they seriously damaged clients' trees.
